A Newquay clifftop restaurant and bar could be turned into a boutique hotel with ten bedrooms.
If councillors back the plans the owners of the Lewinnick Lodge, Pentire Head that overlooks Fristral Beach will spend a million pounds on the venture.
Newquay-based Faronpark Ltd who own the restaurant would also add a manager's flat and roof garden. The planning application also includes an additional refrigeration area at basement level. Lewinnick Lodge currently employs 50 people all year round and the proposed development would create up to ten new jobs.
Peter Fair, managing director at Faronpark Ltd, said: "We already have planning permission secured a number of years ago for two luxury residential apartments.
"But the new plan takes into account the greatly changed economic picture.
"This will be a flagship development both for our company and for Newquay."
