Such was the size of the squads that it was agreed to play four, ten minute sessions in this game to ensure everyone got a decent period of play. Truro were a big team but it was the more diminutive Newquay who applied the early pressure with some strong rucking allowing a determind Ethan Reed to drive over for the first try. Early eagerness had both teams making numerous handling errors but it was Newquay who capitalised with Sol Hawkins going over in the corner and Ethan Moragn making it three as Newquay kept the pressure on. The restart saw Truro quickly move the ball to the left wing where they out paced Newquay to pull one back. Some high tackling saw both sides reminded by the referee to keep them low but it was over-exuberance rather than malicious. As the second ten minutes progressed Truro came on the offensive. Using their forwards they powered through the middle to pull one back, quickly followed by another as some uncharacteristically sloppy tackling allowed them to run down the wing to level the scores. A momentary lapse of concentration by Truro after the re-start saw Arthur Bygrave jink his way though their defence to score. Truro mounted a period of sustained pressure in response but the Newquay defence held firm as the second period ended. The third session saw Truro start where they left off and when a loose ball was picked up by them on the wing the winger outpaced the Newquay defence to level the scores once more. Newquay remained undaunted and once more the whole team were drove forward. Owen Pryor slipped past a couple of Truro players before finally being tackled but still managed to get the ball out to Lewis Hollings who went in to score in the corner. Great rucking and support play from Newquay continued with Perran Heaman driving through the Truro defence before the ball eventually popped up to Lewis Hollings on the right to go over once again. Newquay had the bit between their teeth now. The tireless Ethan Morgan went over to extend the lead before strong rucking saw the whole team seemingly ground the ball at once for another. Truro to their credit though never capitulated and pulled two trys back before Sol Hawkins made a strong run through the middle with further support seeing Ben Hunt make the final score to emphasise newquay's superiority.
