Newquays New Four Screen Cinema

The long awaited new state-of-the-art four-screen cinema in Newquay is due to open late spring 2011.
This flagship building will be the first purpose built all digital projection cinema in the South West.
The complex will feature MasterImage 3D projection to cater for the high number of 3D movies that are planned for the 2011 summer season.
The external shell of the building is due to be completed by the end of January, allowing work to commence on the internal fitting of the complex.
Newquay has been without a cinema since 1995 when the Camelot (now the Walkabout Bar) closed its doors for the final time.
The town at one time had three cinemas, The Camelot, The Victoria and The Astor.
Situated in a very small site very close to the centre of Newquay behind the square, the new purpose-built cinema has been built on the same site as a cinema which closed in 1977.
The cinema will have four screens, with 650 seats across those screens.
WTW are also applying for an alcohol licence for the whole complex which will mean that adults will be able to enjoy a glass of wine with there film as well as the usually soft drinks and popcorn.
Mark Williams of WTW Cinemas stated, "We have been busy looking at the latest in cinema ideas and technology as we look to deliver a state of the art facility for Newquay and the surrounding area.
"The anticipation is already high for the return of the big screen experience to Newquay after a long gap, and we greatly look forward to opening this landmark building for the area later this year."
