Plea To Keep Newquay To London Air Links Crash Lands

A bid to persuade Air Southwest bosses to keep air links between Cornwall and London is reported to have failed, according to Plymouth's chamber of commerce.
The company is axing the Newquay and Plymouth to Gatwick route citing a drop in passenger numbers and high landing fees.
The last flight is due to leave on Monday.
Ryanair has also recently pulled out of Newquay, dropping summer flights to Alicante in Spain.
Ryanair blamed a £5 charge per departing passenger, imposed by airport owners Cornwall Council.
